My Favorite Peel and Stick Wallpapers For Short Term Rentals and Apartments

Anything William Morris:

William Morris Acanthus in charcoal

You’ve probably seen this everywhere since his patterns became public domain a few years back, but it is so classic that I don’t see it going out of style anytime soon. I recently used the Acanthus Trail pattern by Nextwall and was very pleased with the results, but many, and I do mean MANY, retailers are selling wallpaper with his patterns now. Ask the Googles…

Protea pattern from Floralplus

Full disclosure, this is a cheap paper from China. But the quality/texture is really great for the price, and they are one of the few manufacturers that puts grid lines on the backing, which is super helpful. It is available at both Amazon and Etsy. Of course it takes longer to ship from Etsy, but there are also way more pattern options on there than Amazon, and there is also an option for roll lengths.

Tempaper is one of the most established peel and stick wallpaper companies, and their collaboration with well known designers are great. They’ve also gotten into the peel and stick wall mural game now. I haven’t had the opportunity to install one of those yet but I will jump at the first opportunity to do so! They sell from their own website but their products are also available at many major retailers including Home Depot, Overstock, and of course Amazon.

Nuwall Faux Grasscloth in cream

This is the best faux grasscloth I’ve found and it’s really affordable for what it is. I’ve used both the cream and the wheat colors and loved both. It doesn’t have a texture, but it looks legit nonetheless and is very forgiving when hanging it.

Le Jardin Art Nouveau via Spoonflower

By far, this is where you will find the most variety and largest selection of patterns. Unfortunately it can be a beast to search through (this site is not curated, and not all the designers are, um, stellar). It’s also not cheap, but they frequently run sales and you can always focus on papering a small area such as the back wall of a powder room or a coffee bar nook.

Side note about peel and stick wallpaper: This is usually a product that DIYers use, as some professional wallpaper installers will not install it. If you're doing it yourself, make sure you are not only ordering sufficient square footage, but that you are also allowing enough to match up the pattern repeat. The bigger the pattern, the more you'll need. When in doubt, order too much and return what you don't need, as you do not want to be in a position where you have to order more later and they send you rolls from a different dye lot that isn't a perfect match for what you've already used!
